The time is now, my friends...

Issue #966 (closed) has passed 110 comments and the Font Awesome library has passed 220 vector icons (including all icons originally provided by the tiny, raster Glyphicon sprites).

My quick two cents on why this switch is FAR past due:

  1. The web-fonts not only allow for infinite scaling, but they also inherently handle the color of the icon. No more icon-white class!
  2. The Font Awesome folks just released the new set a few days ago, with IE7 support and full icon parity with Bootstrap 2.0.4. The changeover would be seamless.
  3. The stricter licensing rules of the Glyphicons vs the generous Font Awesome license/attribution rules (including for commercial use), as discussed in #3131 (closed).

I'd be interested to hear the hesitation (if any) now that the Glyphicon parity and browser support has been introduced. Thanks a bunch for all your hard work!
